Last week’s experiment with putting up mp3s worked out okay, and I think it’s more fun to share actual music than to show off my stellar playlists. I’ve also acquired some bootleg Pimsleur lessons, which are completely clogging up the shuffle function… a Random Ten at this point would be insufferably full of “Spanish Unit N”.
There’s a backstory here, about Harrison’s 8 year old niece:

And, well, I couldn’t think of one. Gender non-essentialist that I am, I’m not sure there are articulable reasons why it’s especially awesome to be female – certainly nothing you could explain to an 8 year old. I felt very dour, crabbing in the corner with my feminist ray gun.
But then it occurred to me that there are plenty of inarticulable reasons.
